TheRef - Now at new location - The

information - for many years the best single source for this hard to find information

The Hardware Book - Great info on
connector pin outs, making adapter cables and more
COMPINFO - The Computer
Information Centre's Support Links page - links to most companys for support issues and
information. One of the best collections of information of its kind.
Frank Pikelner - This
site has info on the newer hard disks and CD Rom drives, with a focus on technology and
performance
Blue Planet - This company site has reference
on specs, jumpers, etc on many brands of drives - another good HD info source
Build your own PC - This excellent
site has a
complete guide on how to build a PC, what goes into one, how it works, some good ideas on
choosing pieces and more! Plus its done in a fun way and entertaining to view - Check it
out!

- Here is a great site for anyone with a Packard Bell computer. Lots of info on how to get
more out of your Packard

Pinouts -Great source of hardware pinouts and connect info. This students pages are
some of the best for this type of information. Good Resource!
COMPANY SITES
Cyrix - Info on their processors and various
motherboard compatibility issues - very well organized and informative site
Intel - Lots of resources for improving your performance
besides the usual info on processors
ShuttleGroup - The USA site for the company
which makes SHUTTLE motherboards
Seagate - The Hard disk maker - this is a great
site with lots of information on their drives, tape backup units and software
Maxtor - Another HD maker - now merged with CONNER
hard drives
Kingston - One of the bigger and better sources of
memory chip sets and information on them
H. Co - Another good sources of memory chip sets and
information on them
Gateway 2000 - While mostly support for their
products, you will find useful utilities and info on compatibility issues here too
If I had to limit
myself to just a few suppliers, Tiger definitely be in the top of the list. If you have
not looked at them, click here and do it now. Not only very low prices, but many unusual
items and usually fast service.
Mitsumi - Latest manuals, info on new
products and driver software
Packard Bell - This site has some good driver
files and updates for your Packard Bell PC
ComputerGate - A great place to buy cables,
and almost any accessory you might need for you computer. Well worth a visit. For cables I
always use ComputerGate!
